What are the Year 9s doing in DT this term?

Graphics are designing advertisement stands for confectionary companies to use. They need to be eye-catching and colourful to make people interested in the products!

Resistant Materials have been practicing their skills with hand tools to shape acrylic as it’s a possible material they will use to make their clock project from.

Food are looking into nutrition and way to make healthy meals.

Textiles are learning dress-making skills and are putting together a garment from scratch!

A very exciting and busy first half of the term.

What are Year 8 doing in DT?

Let’s take a look at what the Year 8s are getting up to in Design Technology this term.

Textiles are getting messy making felt by fusing colourful wool fibres together.

Food tech have been cooking international recipes and learning about different foods from all over the world.

Graphics are designing activity packs for children on long journeys and creating all the exciting games to go inside.

Resistant Materials have been making jigsaw puzzles and starting their litter grabber project.

What are Year 7 doing in DT?

The Year 7’s have had a very busy start to term and are getting stuck into their new Design Technology projects.

Textiles are making aztec patterned bags and learning to applique.

Food are learning the basic skills of cooking and have made pizza and homemade tomato soup from scratch!

Resistant Materials have started their bird feeder projects and are cutting the pieces and using new tools.

Graphics are being shown new computer programmes to use to design their own keyring that will be cut out using the laser cutter
