The year 7s have started a brand new project founded by the BBC to learn to code their own ‘micro-bit’. Here is a step-by-step to make your own Micro-bit Monster!
First design your monster around the template of your micro bit.
Cut out your monster pattern with seam allowance to sew around and then cut this out in fabric. Remember to cut out the square for the LEDs and sew the edges to stop fraying.
You need to have cut one whole front piece and two back pieces that overlap and open like an envelope. Sew the pieces together around the edge.
When you turn the monster inside-out it should be similar to a pillow case on the back with an overlap.
Next you need to stuff the edges with wadding. Pin everything in place with the micro-bit inside to make sure it looks right..Blanket stitch around the edges to create a quirky finish to your monster as well as hold the wadding in place.
You’ve created your Micro-bit Monster, now it needs coding to make it ROAR!
